Anxiety Support

Anxiety is a common issue people experience and can be something short term or more chronic. It can develop for a variety of reasons from a transition or adjustment that becomes overwhelming. Anxiety can also be something that takes on an ongoing, daily presence, which can feel debilitating. Regardless of how you experience anxiety, it can be treated.

Anxiety symptoms can include: feeling nervous, restlessness, increased heart rate, heavy breathing or hyperventilating, sweating, shaking, difficulty concentrating, focus on anxious thoughts, excessive worrying, avoidance, trembling, feeling keyed up or on edge, irritability, muscle tension, fatigue, tiredness, sleep issues such as difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, and can result in relational issues, work issues, etc.

The approach I take with anxiety is first to understand your personal experience. While there are common symptoms and causes, it is important that we address things from an individualized approach in order to do our best work together. By hearing your personal story, it helps me to identify more about your experiences of anxiety, any physical/physiological symptoms, your thoughts, your emotions, and your behaviors. These are all important as we work together to get at the root of the anxiety so that we can create a treatment plan that addresses lasting, sustainable growth, and not merely symptom relief (although we will work on that too!)
